Powerbutton Hack

This is code that has not been touched since 2001! I do not own a Palm device and do not know if this works anymore.

PowerButton Hack will let you set what program pops up when you power on your palm.

This is a hack for PDAs that use This is a hack for PDAs that use . Minimum version is 2.X and I’ve only ever tested this with version 3.x. I have reports that it works at least some versions of 4.x.

  • Run a custom program upon power on
  • Set it to only run your custom program if your palm has been off for a specified amount of time.
  • PalmV power button hack, for PalmVs where the power button still gets pressed. (Note: this hack won’t enable alarms, try Duncan Sargeant’s UpOffHack for pre-PalmOS3.5 systems).

Warning: I have had one report of bad behavior on Handera Palms, including complete data loss. The user was running a program in Card Flash. It could have been something unrelated, but we were unable to determine the cause. It hasn’t happened since.
