It is said that you define a person by what they know. If you follow that through to its logical conclusion; a person is the sum of their experiences. Therefore, if you want to know who I am, I could just give you access to everything I have seen and done and everyone I have met. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to put everything I have ever experienced on the net. At least not yet.
Instead of trying to give you everything I’ll try to tell you about some important things. Or maybe just things I think you’ll be interested in.
I really love to understand things; how they work, how they are used, what they do. I have spent hours and hours just playing with some new bit of technology or piece of software. When I try to understand or learn something, like an algorithm or Morse code, I sometimes write a program to help me. Sometimes these are tools. Sometimes these are toys. On this site I have put all my toys and tools in one place for you to look through, download and share.
My mother is very artistic; she plays the flute, paints and draws. My father sings and plays piano. My brother plays bassoon professionally. My sister makes all kinds of things out of clay. I do artistic things on occasion. I have put examples things I have sketched, drawn, written, cartooned and photographed on this site.
This site, actually, is work of many years. I have made several versions, trying to make each one better than the last. It is a combination of technology and art that I have been working on since the web browser first came out in late 1993. When I work on my website, I try to make sure that it is well documented and easy to understand. This is mainly for my benefit but it may help you, too.
